Inorder to give myself a break from all the Infantry I have been painting recently decided to get the Inquisitorial Land Raider painted as it has been sat ready to paint for pushing on 2 months now
Started by airbrushing the grey colour (although after this picture I realised that I had done the grey too grey and not blue grey so had to redo it) then masked off the bits I wanted to remain grey and did the red.
Then using a tiny bit of foam and mithril silver I added a crap load of chipping to the edges of the army and extra attention to areas that would be chipped more than others. After all that was done I started to do the details on the doors etcs
Have been looking for a land raider like this since I spotted one in war hammer visions, didn't realise I'd find the Actual one! Incredible model and army. Just Wondering what colour grey you sprayed this in the end? Many thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi James,
DeleteI used Tamiya Flat Black then added progressively more Tamiya German Grey to the mix followed by adding and then Tamiya Flat White till I was happy.
Hope that helps matey
That helps a lot mate, thanks. I presume you're airbrushing and not using the stock spray cans? I was thinking it might just be tamiya german grey spray, that would make it all a bit simpler. Have done a test with gw's chaos black and think it looks ok.. But not brilliant. Amazing work across the whole site btw.
ReplyDeleteyes i use the airbrush for the tanks. I dont see why a spray can wouldnt work using a zenithal highlighting principle you just have less control. But once all the details are done and the tank weathered you might not even notice the difference between a job dont by airbrush and one by spray can :)
