Grey Knights - Inquisitor Rodrigo Díaz
After nearly 3 months sat on the side gathering dust in a state of almost finished I have put the final touches to Diaz and he is now ready to base
Took me a while last night to decide on how to do the hammer and a few redos but got there in the end.

Grey Knights - Dance of Death
This weekend has been another one of nothing but painting........
It has also been very productive, although I have been sat on my arse all weekend I will probably end up with piles :D
All the death cult assassins are painted up to a point where it is just the weapons and other minor details to do.
I have alternated between red body suits and black trim and black body suits and red trim but giving them all white masks, that way I have given what would overwise seem a very boring colour scheme across the unit much more interest without making them seem different.
I have also started work on the power weapon blades, a simple mirror type effect but it contrasts nicely with the red as it is based on blue.

Grey Knights - A Dance of Death
Having finished the Land Raider I have jumped straight into the passengers that are intented for it, a unit of Death Cult Assassins and Crusaders.
I have wanted to this this unit for some time, having got all the bits together over the last 6 months I was originally going to use the Dark Eldar Wytches as a base however with the release of the new Dark Elf Witches I immediately changed plans.....the new Dark Elf Witches are just gorgeous and with only minimal conversion make perfect Death Cult Assassins.
The bits used to make the Death Cultists are, Dark Elf Witches, weapons and face masks from the Dark Eldar Wytches, axes from Empire Great Swords, ][ etched brass from FW and skulls from whereever you want.
The bits used to make these crusaders are Great Sword Legs, Axe, and Helms, Demi Griffion Helms, arm from the Empire Archers, arm from the Empire State Troops, Assault Marine combat shild, Space Wolf combat shield, and ][ Etched Brass from FW
Ready to paint!

Grey Knights - Inquisitorial Land Raider Crusader
Last few days have been a little hectic going out on a couple of the nights but there has been work on the Land Raider and it is now finished but I managed to get pictures of all the stages
Once all the details were painted and the metals were given a light wash of GW Nuln Oil and then the entire model was given a coat of Klear
Then the tank was given another coat of Klear, once dry all the lenses were painted soot on exhausts etc and mud splatters using AK Interactive Dark Mud. If you dont mind a shiney tank you could assume this was finished.
I however like my tanks to be matte, in my mind a real fighting vehicle would be matte from the dust grime etc but that is personal preference. So using Daler and Rowney Soluble Matte Varnish thinned 4:1 Varnish/White Spirit I gave the tank an airbrushed coat of matte varnish.

Once the Klear was dry the entire tank is given a light wash of burnt umber oil thinned down with white spirit
The tank was then left for 12 hours to allow the oil paint to dry completely. Then using AK Interactive Rust Streaks started to add rust spots and streaks taking in to accout there water may have built up and caused rusting and where rusty water might have dripped down the side of the tank.

Grey Knights - Inquisitorial Land Raider
Worked on the Land Raider a bit more last night. I would usually do the details and any decals that would be required before the chipping but I wanted the details to be crisp and undamaged to contrast with the battered hull. I freehanded the etched brass ][ to make them look like cracked stone to tie them into the forgeworld doors and I am pleased with the result, glad I took the time to do it. It is now ready for gloss varnishing.

Grey Knights - Inquisitorial Land Raider
Inorder to give myself a break from all the Infantry I have been painting recently decided to get the Inquisitorial Land Raider painted as it has been sat ready to paint for pushing on 2 months now
Started by airbrushing the grey colour (although after this picture I realised that I had done the grey too grey and not blue grey so had to redo it) then masked off the bits I wanted to remain grey and did the red.
Then using a tiny bit of foam and mithril silver I added a crap load of chipping to the edges of the army and extra attention to areas that would be chipped more than others. After all that was done I started to do the details on the doors etcs

Blitzkreig Bop - Armageddon Steel Legion 101st Infantry - Company Mascot, Buster the Cyber Mastiff
In a way to get a companp mascot into the army and add a little more flavour I decided to add the cyber mastiff model that came with the Forgeworld show only model from last year the main madel was used to make Sergeant Andrej. I will use it as a bodyguard for the Company Command
Blitzkreig Bop - Armageddon Steel Legion 101st Infantry - Infantry mustered and ready to fight!
