Commissar Falkov - Castle Miniatures Bust

I have been spreading my time out between three different projects, Space Marines, The Toad and this Bust, so progress is slow on each project but overall there is loads of progress

Have done the cyber eye and the cap peak, was pleased with the final result on the peak, not something I have overly tried before the high gloss black painted with matte paints.

I have finished Black Flag and finally I can resume life........

As such brushes have been lifted once more and they are not as heavy as I thought they would be, and paint has been applied in a manner that might indicate it was planned, that might all be in my head though.

Moving in the right direction once again :D

Let the painting frenzy begin!

Commissar Falkov - Castle Miniatures Bust

Progress on the bust has been rather slow over the holiday period due mainly to the Steam Sales.....

and then as a result Assassin's Creed

and then by association Assassin's Creed Black Flag

But there has been a little progress

Commissar Falkov - Castle Miniatures Bust

Progress has been a little slow for the last couple of days, had a night of gaming on Friday and i have been doing non-painty stuff most of today, but there had been a little progress

Commissar Falkov - Castle Miniatures Bust

This morning before work I undercoated and did some white undercoat zenithal "scetching" as i learnt from Roman at the weekend.

This gives me an idea where to place the lights and shades when i start painting

This evening I got stuck in with the skin and it is starting to look rather tastey already

Commissar Falkov - Castle Miniatures Bust

I agreed to have a little "Bustup" with my friend Phill we have both decided to paint the same bust for a bit of fun.  I love my Steel Legion so it made sense that i theme it to that army and in particular to Commissar Falkov being the Commissar attached to Helsreach.

This is a lovely bust from Castle Miniatures although I am not keen on the original canisters on the side of the gas mask as they look like some sort of eldar thing, so I have converted it into a more contemporary gas mask.  I have also removed all the "G" symbols from the model and replaced them with discs so that I can paint some Steel Legion symbols. Finally I have smoothed out all the texture on the jacket.

This will be my first ever bust and I am looking forward to it :D
